Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Riddhima Sahni immersed Rishi Kapoor’s ashes in Mumbai’s Banganga Tank on Sunday.
Rishi Kapoor’s family was not granted permission to travel to Haridwar for rituals of the actor in nationwide lockdown and therefore the family carried out rituals in Mumbai.
In the videos shared in social media, Ranbir, Neetu, Alia Bhatt, Riddhima Sahni and Aayan Mukerjee can be seen performing rituals.
Rishi Kapoor’s elder brother, Randhir Kapoor, told PTI on Sunday, “We did prayer meet yesterday. Today we immersed his ashes in Banganga as we haven’t received permission from the authorities to go to Haridwar.”
Rishi Kapoor died on April 30 at H N Reliance hospital in Mumbai. The actor was 67 years old and battled cancer for two years.
The actor’s sudden death spreaded shock waves in Bollywood as well as across the nation. Fans started pouring their tributes to the actor on social media. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who stays in Delhi, could not attend his father’s funeral held at Mumbai due to nationwide lockdown. She arrived Mumbai from Delhi by road to join rituals in Mumbai.
