Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is not only popular among Indians but also popular across the globe and has become a world’s most popular leader on Facebook.
A recent study by BCW (Burson Cohn & Wolfe) on the world leaders popularity on Facebook says, With over 45 million followers on his personal page on Facebook, Prime Minister of India continues to be the No. 1 popular leader on Facebook. While United States President Donald Trump also leads in other ways, he has the highest interactions on Facebook.
In terms of followers and likes on the Facebook page, United States President Donald Trump is in second place with around 27 million followers/likes on his Facebook page and he is the second most popular world leader on Facebook. Although Donald Trump is behind PM Modi in terms of facebook page likes, Trump leads for the most interactions with 309 million comments, likes and shares on the FB page over the past year.
Queen of Jordan Rania is in third place in ‘World Leaders on Facebook’ list with 16.8 million likes on Facebook page.
In terms of likes, comments and share – overall interaction Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro is in second place with 204 million likes, comments and share ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with 84 million interactions on his Facebook page.
A study was done on over 721 world leaders and governments’ pages on Facebook.
According to study of global communications agency BCW, only nine countries do not have a presence on Facebook which includes Mauritania, Nicaragua, North Korea, Eritrea, Turkmenistan and a small handful of Pacific island states.
The Facebook pages of Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, pages of the governments of Austria, Estonia and Italy have more than doubled their page likes in March 2020 alone.
PM Modi is the most popular leader on Facebook, and is in third place for interactions on Facebook over the last 12 months.
