Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has always been respected in the history of cricket. His contribution in both the world cup that India won was not forgettable. He was the Man of the tournament in both the world cup – 2007 and 2011.
Yuvraj Singh spoke about the selection dilemma faced by MS Dhoni in the 2011 world cup for the selection between Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan. Every captain has a favorite and Suresh Raina got massive backing from the then-Indian captain MS Dhoni, Yuvi said in a Spots Tak interview.
MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina both have been the main pillar for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since 2008.
India’s greatest all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also stated that the team management had ‘no choice’ as the team wasn’t having a left-arm spinner.
Yuvraj said that Yusuf Pathan was also performing well at that time and even he was doing well and was also picking wickets. And Raina was not in a good touch then.”As I was the only left-arm spinner at that time and I was picking wickets so they did not have any choice”, Yuvi added
Yuvraj Singh performed exceptionally well in both the world cup tournament won by India, also became Man of the tournament in 2011 world cup.
Yuvi also revealed that after six sixes in an over during 2007 questions were raised over the bat he used. According to sixer king Yuvi, the match referee had some doubts on his bat and even the referee checked his bat too. Australian player Adam Gilchrist also asked about the mystery behind the bat. Yuvraj said both the world cup winning bats are very special to him.
