Another two Sadhus killed in UP’s Bulandshahr; one arrested

After the Palghar mob murdered two sadhus, two other sadhus were killed in Pagona village in Anoopshahr area of Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district.

Dead bodies of two priests were found at the Pagon village’s temple in UP’s Bulandshahr on Monday late night.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident and has directed UP Police to investigate the case and submit a report about the incident.

Bulandshahr Police have started investigation and dead bodies of two seer have been sent to post-mortem.

The two priests have also been identified as Jagdish alias Rangidas (55) and his disciple Sher Singh alias Sewa Das (46). They were priests at Shiva temple in the village and used to live inside the temple.

Local villagers found the dead bodies of two priests in a temple when they visited a temple on Monday and then they informed the police about the matter.

According to police, the two priests were murdered using sharp weapon and police have also arrested one person from the neighbouring village and has been taken into custody.

After an initial investigation, Bulandshahr SSP Santosh Kumar said, “two days back the priests had a minor dispute with addict Murari alias Raju as he had stolen ‘Chimta’(tongs). Under the influence of opium, he killed two sadhus using a sword. Raju, the accused man has been arrested from a two kilometers from a village and has confessed to his crime”

The incident comes more than a week after two sadhus and their driver were lynched by a huge mob in Palghar district village in Maharashtra.
